Also tried pointing it explicitly at the copy inside Chrome, and at the newer version installed by Adobe in "/Library/Internet plugins", to no avail. You can even manually edit ~/Library/Application Support/Chromium/Default/Preferences to point directly at the PPAPI Flash plugin, after copying it out of Chrome and putting it into /Applications/Chromium.app/Contents/Versions//Chromium amework/Internet Plug-Ins, mirroring the Chrome installation and Preferences file down to the last details in the plugins section of the JSON in the Preferences file, and it will not work. Not sure what version this broke in (I have been bouncing around between various Dev and Canary builds). The first two responses from cor-el, who is shown, I might add, as a TOP TEN contributor, as well as a moderator. Third, you need to look at the whole thread before you try chastising me. The fact this is a user "staffed" support group was brought to my attention when I joined, and I also got that from trying to find actual Mozilla Tech Support.

THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED BY A SMARTER PERSON. You didn't do that though, did you? Let's see if you read full messages. If you had sent this answer the first time, that Flash needs to updated through each different browser, THAT would have been useful and a direct response. You have now sent three responses, the first two of which did not reply to my question at all. First, Edmeister solved the issue for me, with a SINGLE response that actually responded to the question I asked. How did you wind up as a moderator? You don't read ANYTHING completely. What I wrote above is how you can check in Firefox whether you run the latest Flash version or that you have to update Flash (not all browser may have to update at the same time). Google Chrome comes with its own PPAPI version and needs to update its browser.įirefox doesn't come with Flash and you need to install/update the NPAPI version yourself. You will always have to update Flash for each browser individually like posted above because each browser uses its own version of the Flash plugin. When you download a Flash update for Google Chrome then this is only for Google Chrome.
